Just a quickie!

Attended a call out last night to a site that had 2x Hitachi VRF systems in place, running 16 indoor ceiling mounted units approx 5 yrs old.

they were having difficulty with heating. On further inspection I found that a layer of self adhesive foam insulation found internally within the indoor unit, above the louvre had become dislodged. This dislodged foam had fallen immediately behind the louvre blocking all air supply.

All sorts of faults were being thrown up which eventually I manged to clear. This was found to be the case on two thirds of the indoor units on site, so we removed all of the foam in the end to be on the safe side.

I just wondered if anyone else has encountered this, only Hitachi deny all knowledge of being aware of such a maunfacturing issue, as you expect they would do.
