R410A v older *****s (velocity rates)
does anybody know the comparative velocity rates for 410A verses 22 or 407C, I believe 410A is a lot higher and therefore you don't need oil traps to return oil, is this correct or have I been given a load of flannel ? Hope someone can help

Re: R410A v older *****s (velocity rates)
Yeah thats right. 407 & 22 run very similarly, but 410a runs at about 500psi head pressure. I havent seen too many in practice myself, but allegedly 410 units take a while for the refrigeration cycle to get going. Also, apparently, for long runs on splits you dont get as much of a performance drop off over a long run as you do with 22 or 407
