    Online posts can damage businesses

    Of interest?...

Disgruntled employees and customers can significantly damage businesses online. People can easily post negative comments, true or not. Often businesses aren’t aware of the postings. And the damages can run into millions of dollars.....

    Chilling

Thank you for the link to that article. In the past we have experienced "slurrings" by members, I myself am guilty of having had a moan or two in the past.

RE will always remain a balanced forum which promotes healthy and cordial debate within our community.

It cannot be a platform for the distribution of one way ctritique, heresay or attack upon individuals or companies.

Where genuine fears or questions are to be raised, the opposing parties should always be offered an opportunity to respond.

Companies invest heavily in our economies and unfair , unjust ctriticism of them can affect their businesses. Legal considerations also need to be taken into account.

We all mature and learn from our past mistakes. This has provided us with a useful reminder that in future we cannot at RE serve to allow malicious comments to be propogated on this medium.

So thank you again Chilling for this very timely and useful article

You are right Abeg, this should serve as a 'warning' to people who want to 'slag' off a company they are unhappy about. But it also serves as a warning to companies who think they can $hit on the customer.

Remember the old saying..."The pen is mightier than the sword"?

Well todays saying is..."The internet is more powerful than all".

Agree with you and with Abe too...there always were and will be unsatisfied persons some with reason but some only bad, trying to harm someone....today that is very easy thanks to internet...for that reason we have to listen both sides and then make decision who is right and who is wrong...if.

In another hand we all are humans and capable to make mistakes....and sometimes one small apologize is better and cheaper then repairing of damage caused by bad letter posted on some web page...

    Best regards, Josip

Great article. With the Internet as young as it is. It still is just a open forum unfortunately. Everybody, besides Google and Yahoo have to come up with ways to "police" all the bad criticism.
