what the power in PSI require from air condition compressor for cooling 12000 BTU.???

PSI is a unit for measuring pressure.
Power is generally measured in Watt, whereas 1000Watt = 1 Kilo Watt.
12000 BTU ~3.5kW/h
As a really rough guide you can say that a compressor has a power ratio of 1:2.
Thus, a compressor with a power input of 1.75kW will give you a cooling capacity of 3.5kW.
BUT...
There is much more to the art of selecting a compressor than this.
You really need to take all your figures, this will include temps, flows and so on, and then look at the data from a compressor manufacturer.

hello all..could someone direct me to where i can get more information on BTU/kw ratios and how to work out figures for temp,flows etc. many thanks.
