    System sizing and other scenarios come to mind here. Like salesman that sell a unit with all those promises. Ever see a standard walkin freezer used as a bagel dough retarder? I saw this happen... the original 10k btu freezer had to be upsized to a 28k system, no cost to the customer of course. Anybody got any stories about mis-applications?

    I used to be involved with discount stores

    They were forever buying over old stores and trying to get the equipment to do what they wanted. They had all sorts of crap running in their "plantrooms"

    I own a Co. that services and builds equipment for the scientific field. I see units that are being built that will not do what the customer askes. I find in this field that most scientists haven't a clue as to what they need or want. I am having to always out quess them. For the most part I am successful.
