The impossible we can do straight away...

    Miracles take a little longer...

You must learn to try your refrigeration wholesalers or even the search engines on the internet, both are of great use.

They're starting to take it as a challenge...

BASIC MAINTENANCE. If it doesn't move and it should then use WD40. If it moves but it shouldn't then use Duct Tape.

Just as well you are not in Australia, no gauges or service equipment yet. No courses or licence but domestic and small commercial units with hydrocarbon in them are popping up everywhere. C'mon Australia, get your act together... Worst part of this is end users have no idea they have an unserviceable fridge. ... AH, yeh, rant over, as Brian UK says, just thinking out aloud.. Mike.

What's unserviceable about it? I love R600a and R290 refrigerants. I can work on them legally! I just use R134a gauges with a laminated PT chart.

Use a regular pressure gauge and teach the operators how to use a pressure-temperature chart.
