Estimating savings for low-e glass
I need help estimating the seasonal cost savings for installation of low-e glass vs clear glass. The window has 45 square foot of area and it faces due West. It is 3/16" thick each sheet with 3/8" air spacing. It has no shading. This would be located at N 39* W 77* Lattitude, longitude. This is near Washington DC.
I had a contractor replace this glass due to seal failure. It appears that despite contractual obligation, he did not install low-e glass but rather used clear glass. I've checked it by viewing a burning match reflection. All four surfaces appear identical. The low-e unit that was removed had an obvious difference in reflection from the coated surface.
