Oops installed 134A cond unit with a 404 TXV

While on the road I found that one of my guys hooked a 134a condensing unit to a remote evaporator with a 404 valve. It was then evacuated, charged with 134A and ran. This is all i know. I can't wait to find out more as this is holiday week and then I start vacation so I woun't find out for awhile.
1) What is likely to have happened
2) Are there any long term effects on the TXV after the proper unit and gas is used.
3) It what ways are condensig units different for the different refrigerants.

The only difference would have been in how well the TXV regulated.
If the compressor survived then you shouldn't have any problems.

It should not have a detrimental effect as long as liquid does not flood back to the comp.

Just think how they work? They are only glorified holes that have a bit of control.
It will not perform the same but I don't think that it is a big deal.
Your guy should pump the system down and just change the valve.
15mins and all will be back to normal.

Yea I figured the glory hole thing but wasn't sure it would flood. I thought , at the higher operating pressure the valve works with, the evap would starve? Ken
