Chart Recorders.

Evening all,

I may be showing my age here but :-

Can anyone tell me if the small 3-4 Inch paper chart (Like a tacho) disc recorders are available anywhere.
NRS still show them in their book but dont have any in the comapny. The young guy at HRP had a look in the book and then asked me "How long ago were they available, i dont think i have a book that far back" KIDS
we did used to have a special word for them but my brains going and cant remember what we used to call them. Looking for a Freezer and a fridge one just to keep an eye on a couple of units for a few days

They are also digital now! I know Testo makes them, but many more will!

Not what you are asking for but i think Hawco do some little (tinytag?) temperature logging things that you plug into the usb port to download the info from.

Was hopeing for something cheap and cheerfull ( Is there anything in this industry thats cheap). Will prbably only use it once so looking for a non electroninc one that wont cost £100's

Have a look at RS Components.

They do a LASCAR temperature datalogger EL-USB-1 -35degC to 80degC. 35 pounds - Software included. Also do a version with Humidity and Temp.

I still use the Supco chart recorders with the paper discs, RPW at Manchester get me my discs, Ian is the bloke there to speak to.

I saw different solution in the market. Eliwell I think has a complete range of solution, from the portable datalogger with USB connection for data downloading till to the memoery 1000 that can have the printer embedded for upto 8 inputs and the possiblity to monitor external controllers via rs485

i just bought a fielpiece data logger and its really cool. it will hold all fieldpiece heads (as well as many other brands). you can track voltage, amperage, temperature, superheat and subcooling, relative humidity, and more.

you can assign parameters for how long to test and how often. it lasts a week with fresh batteries and i can upload the data to my laptop via usb and load the data into a graph.

i paid $100 for mine new,, normally theyre around $200, but i suspect the price will be dropping.

That's what I thought, i did get some off them a few years ago for coldstore applications but they were around £300 each.

Perhaps the other famous name you tried to recall was PARTLOW , like the Adams.
You would have seen them on many Marine Containers and on reefer semi trailers, esp any equipment that might have come in from USA. (was it on TIP trailers / Genstar/Trailerrent as examples?)

Used to be a 30 day/ 28 day 'wind up' recorder. Then replaced by more plastic-ky motorized one, which had dubious reputation as I heard.
So now you have Adams, Partlow and I think Saginomiya from Japan still make them too.

I have it on good authority, ie I am in charge of Eliwell Uk that you can now purchase the memory 1000 from Thermofrost, HRP or Climate(wolseley). If you cannot purchase this please let me know and I can arrange one for you very quickly.

Maybe try the memory 1000, it's worth a try? They are available from the main distributors Thermofrost, Wolseley, HRP Fridgespares etc....
