Any of my old mates out there?
Just pondering in a moment of alcohol induced euphoria, if anyone on this site might have run across me/or me them. I joined Walkers Refrigeration in 1966 as an apprentice. They were one of (10)? UK Frigidaire agents. Walkers were HO in Liverpool UK, with several branches in the North West. Because of my location, luckily I immediately went into the commercial side and was apprenticed first to Eric Shepherd (prat), and later Ronnie (black) Jones... No racial intent here, Ronnie was caucasian but worked the Wigan Lancashire area and was as a consequence always dirty having had to deal with filthy tops of butcher cold rooms etc. He was a good guy and salt of the earth. At aged 19 I was given an old van and told to get out there and do the business.. my soft training had ended, and with two years of my apprenticeship to run, my weekly wage was £17. Guys I knew then were John Bryan, Fred Thomson, Brian Gittins, Ray Owen, Reg Owen, Peter Nadin, Steve Bentley, Keith Daly and others... From there I joined another now defunct Co. Refrigeration West Midlands. Mike Sargent was my boss in the North Wales branch, and Tom Bartlett was the only other name I recall. Following that I set up business on my own. (1982). Ring a bell with anyone out there ?

Well, well. Some response. I have heard of all of them except Ian Grant. Peter Higgins I knew quite well, he retired way back and if still alive lives in Rhuddlan North Wales. Ran into Martin a few times in the Holywell area. (couldn't miss him really could you) and Graham Baldwin who lives Chester area worked for HRP then Foster and now (well was last I knew) back at HRP Warrington branch. Gwyn, I myself moved to Prestatyn area in the 70's and worked for Refrigeration West Midlands (Llandudno)for a while before setting up my own biz in the 80's. I am not sure if I met you but I definitely know of you, do you know Peter Mac from Abergele the co-founder of Clwyd Refrig pm me off-site, Trevor.

Re: Any of my old mates out there?
Yep, I know the truth about Clwyd Refrigeration. And yes I knew Billy , what a sad end ! Those two guys who founded the Co. were comprehensively, scandalously and single-mindedly ripped off by an ex Walkers Refrigeration salesman no less.. who convinced them he could run their business... I'd like to call him lot's of other things but the forum would probably find it distasteful.
So who is "Chillin Out" then I have'nt a clue
