It would be best to use the Sabroe guidelines for replacement intervals. Remember, these operating hours are recommended average hours. A compressor that is treated badly may require more frequent inspection and replacement of parts. This is only something you can decide.

I have seen compressors that are treated well and never been taken apart also.

you are recommend to perform minimum check/s.

these days, QC for compressor before delivery is on random basis.

you wouldn't know if you are to 'choosen' one with defective parts.

it is good to check & change the lube oil; moreover some manufacturer place some cloth type filter at the strainer. if you do not check, ....


perform the isnpection if you trust onyl what you see.

just do it my friend, don't forget to check the alignment, and ofcourse to remove the cloth type filter at the strainer.

I would say 10,000Hrs seems to be the rule of thumb with Recip. The diminishing factor to these hours is the Stop Start
