    Dichlorotetrafluoroethane (R-114)



    I have an old Frigidaire refig. that the evaporator was stabed. I have repaired the evap. The Mfg. info plate says it uses 18oz. of dichlorotetrafluoroethane (R-114). The test pressures are Hi side 100lbs. lo side 100lbs. what can I use in place of R-114?

    Searching google gives R600a3 (iso butane)!

    Don't know about oil, but try the manufacturer

    it most be a very old unit, sadly you are out of luck, there isnt such thing.
