I've been working on a Williams chiller in the North Sea, the work scope was to come out and repair a section of pipe work, ended up being the hot gas line for the drip tray. Was told that the refrigerant was R22. However i noticed a small label mostly peeled away that said R12, the system had been working for a while.

Is R12 banned yet? I think they may have done a full conversion however my discharge pressure is really high (290psi), it is in the kitchen so this may be the reason, but could it be that the condenser coil is sized for R12 and not R22, would this make a difference?

The unit is working but i just ain't confident in it.

Cheers
