On a similar note, Daikin UK are/have been advertising for installation engineers (directly employed).

    Where will it end??

    Re: Mitsubishi electric scam

This is quite intresting, ( forgive me but I can never get the hang of how to spell the word INTRESTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Grrrrrrr

    Ok, never mind........

Do I hear correctly, a Manufacturer is selling his gear DIRECTLY to the end user and in the process by passing the Middle man ?

I would class the Middle man as the :

    DISTRIBUTOR or WHOLESALER
    AIR CONDITIONING COMPANY

    ermmmm, thinking here.

Let me hear some more to verify before I can put my legal cap on .

The traditional rules as I know is that in a Vertical Arrangement the Principal Manufacturer will not approach or respond to customers directly.

    Hi Guys

I work at Mitsubishi Electric in the City Multi departement here in South Africa. Some of our main clients are the banks and hospitals, they purchase the equipment direcly from us and then put the installation out on tender, the contractors only install the units, we then cover the warrantee items on the units our selves, if there is labour requiered from a specialist contractor the client is then liable for the cost of the labour, we do not under cut the contractor in any way, I would conatct Mitsubishi in Japan direclty and report the agent doing this and have their licence to sell Mitsubishi products. We standy the fact that Mitsubishi is the best in the industry and give the service to our clients accordingly.

Same thing goes on in Ireland Mitsu offer direct cost for install to end user then pressure installers to take on jobs at low prices. The standard of the install suffers.

EH who says Mitsu are best in market thats a matter of opinion . I have worked on Mitsu for 16 years and would not agree at all. The kit is only as good as the guy installing it.

    Hi All
It's not only manufacturers that sell to the end user in Australia nearly all the wholesalers will sell to the ned user and sometimes they will get the same discount the contractors get.
We have had several discussions with these wholesalers but nothing has changed.
Do any of you find a similar problem?

The way to get round this is all you engineers band together into an association.

Once united, you make clear to the "culprits" , sell to an end user and we withdraw our custom.

But it happens all the time, wholesalers selling stuff direct. At the end of the day they want to shift stuff thats clogging up the depot. Money is tied up, they have targets to meet, wages to pay.

So its tempting selling it off to anyone thats willing to buy

Hi Abe its not just the a/c market that does this but the most recent disaster for the a/c industry was Toshiba who entered the direct market selling only to admit defeat and re-install its distributors.

Take a look at Foster refrigerator they even have their own web site for direct selling to customers under a different name. They say they support the local distributor but not when they sell direct and include warranties on a cabinet.

Example ProG 600H distributor buying price parts only £ 1,049.00

Foster web site with warranty £1,149.00 so ive got to pay out and cover the warranty for £ 100 quid.

They all do it and de-value our trade, i've not bought fosters for years, Williams are far superior cabinets and support the local dealers.
