    Heat Pump Modification

i finished my first year NVQ 2 COLLEGE IS CLOSE NOW WE HAVE BEEN THOUGH THAT CONDENSERS ARE BIGGER THAT EVAPORATOR IF IT IS THE CASE.

1/ WHAT IS THE PHENOMENON OF HEAT PUMP SYSTEMS WHERE BOTH COILS ARE EQUALE?

2/ASSUME I MODIFY THE HEAT PUMP BY ADDING A AN EVAPORATOR BOX AND LIQUID RECEIVER WILL IT WORK AS HEAT PUMP AND COOL ROOM?

PS: ALL CALCULATION MUST BE TAKEN IN CONSIDERATION.

    Re: Heat Pump Modification

    Hi, no need to SHOUT

    1) Who says that they are the same size ?

    2) Don't understand the question, heat pumps will normally work in both directions as standard.

    Arrow Re: Heat Pump Modification

Evaporator extracts heat at a DT of 6 to 10 K and the condensors rejects this heat and the absorbed compressor power back with a DT of 15K back to the outside.
So the 15K is at least twice or 1.5 bigger then the 6K, so the condensor can be half the size of the evaporator .
Most condensors have a fin spacing half of that of the evaporator, so again a reason why the condensor is smaller.
And your instructors told you that condensors in general are bigger????
It's better to keep your mouth shut and give the impression that you're stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.
