    Hey Chillin,

I think the patent source you linked to was for a new valve style.

I believe the TXV came after the automatic expansion valve somewhere around the late 1930's or thereabouts.

Obviously, some research is required to narrow this down to something specific.
If all else fails, ask for help.

    thanks for the reply
i got a lot of info on the refrigeration history, inventors,
dates there patends and revrigerants used ofer the past
180 jears but unfortionatly nothing on the automatic or tev
it is a petty but in one of my books i kan recall that it was stated that it was a engeneer working for danfoss
but the book was borrowed by one of my apprentises and never seen again
so i hoped that someone could ferify that statement since i have no proof
it was about 14 yers back that i had the book
if i could remember correctly he actually sold the patient to danfoss but i might be wrong so dont quote me on this
but i could not even find a date for the autmatic valve
but since sporlan only developed the drier in 1940 after
the many automatic valves were send back i would have thought that the tev only came after 1940
could any body put some light on this please
    thanks

The only information I could find stated the founder of Danfoss created the TXV in 1933 or so. He could have been the original inventor, or simply the first firm to sell it, but the information was not specific.

The link was terrible and it can't be posted here. Bu tif you do a search on Google for " origin thermostatic expansion valve" you should find a link to Wikipedia for the founder of Danfoss.
If all else fails, ask for help.
