Samsung codes anyone please
HI, I wonder if anyone can help me, I have a samsung domestic A/C unit model SH09AW and it was unplugged for a few months, i reconnected it and the red and green lights were flashing on the wall unit and nothing i could do with the remote would make it work, I read the manual and it made no mention of this error in the trouble shooting part.
I called a samsung engineer and he said it just needed coding with happened from time to time with these units! he got the code off his mobile entered it and bingo it worked. He charged me 75 for 5 mins work which is ok but he would not give me the code or how it was entered.
Can anyone please supply me with the code and how to put it in.
Thank you in advance

Re: Samsung codes anyone please
Dear Nutmeg,
The option codes and how to put them in are in the "service manual" of the unit - doesn"t Samsung supply them in the UK?

Re: Samsung codes anyone please
apparently I can't upload files larger than 100k; full service manual is 2,6Mb... If you want, I can e-mail you the pdf file.

Re: Samsung codes anyone please
I uploaded the service manual on the following link (will only last for 7 days); (can't post link, will send message direct with link)
Check out pages 15 - 18; 15 thru 17 explain how to enter the code; on page 18 is a table with the appropriate codes.
What they actually do is use the same pcb for different capacities of the same model. the option code tells the pcb which unit he is in.
good luck!

My pleasure, Nutmeg.
I really can't see why you can't get those service manuals in the UK. I suppose it's about chargçing the 75 quid

Welcome Pol, finally another Belgium poster.
It's better to keep your mouth shut and give the impression that you're stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.

Re: Samsung codes anyone please
I'm ashamed: my Windows PC went down with tons of info and no back up (NTFS seemed "secure") but makes things so irrecuperable. (3rd time MS windows does this to me, when will I learn?! With MS-DOS you always took care...)
So born again to Linux and its various flavours and colours.
Any chance of the set up procedure by PM anybody?

Re: Samsung codes anyone please
I am new to the forum and have come upon it after searching the net for a solution to my "flashing" AQV24VBA (after a power outage).
I have downloaded via Pol's link to the full service manual but it only applies to the AQV12VBA and the AQV09VBA.
I would greatly appreciate anyone’s assistance in finding the codes and/or service manual for the AQV24VBA.
Thanks in advance.

I was able to get the technician to come by free of charge. The code for the SAMSUNG Vivace 24btu model n. AQV-24VBAN and the AQV-24VSAN units is:

The code for the 18btu units, AQV-18VBAN and AQV-18VSAN is:
06E77717524E.
Thanks to all anyway,

Re: Samsung codes anyone please
I don't have enough words to THANK YOU SUPER SUPERWILL you saved me from a lot of trouble and waiting!!! I was starting to give up because i though that maybe it was a new model and nobody cared for it yet to have it's codes! I was trying to find a way to contact you as P_P suggested but i couldn't find how to send a private message (i don't see any clear option for PM somebody , i don't know if this function is disabled for new members).
Anyway thankfully you saw my post and replied, thank God because here in Greece the service department of Samsung(and most of the companies) is your worst nightmare!!!
I was even wondering to sue them for not giving me the reset codes, because i was thinking with what right do they put an option to lock up my machine with every circuit brake i get! I mean it's a hardware piece and since i buy it i can do with it what ever i want (of course i loose the warranty if i don't comply with some regulation of the company but that's not the point). The point is i bought a product and the manufacturer never warned me or even mentioned anywhere on the product that he had put a lock up mechanism which can be very easily triggered and i had to put up with the company every time to reset it! Even if you don't have a problem with waiting for somebody to come to your place to reset it , there is always the other problem of what happens when your warranty expires? Let me guess ... they start to charge you for every visit!!!!
After all i only bought a product, i didn't married a company!!!
Imagine the hottest days of the summer, especially here in Greece where the temperature it can climb up even to 45oC, a black out happens, due to the massive electrical consumption of A/Cs and a couple of hours later when the power comes back and it's already hard to breath, because of the hot air, you see that your A/C has locked up. You call the company to send someone to reset it and they say you that nobody is available until the next week!!@#$!#$!@#$
Well this are a few thinks i had to get out of me , sorry if i bored anyone!
(I was wondering if this happens only with Samsung or other manufactures have this kind of lock up, and if they do what's there excuse for it)
One last question for you Superwill since you know the Samsung products very well , is this AQV12MSAN smart inverter good as a machine? I ask you because it seems to me that it's performance it's not so good compared to an other 10 year old 12000 BTU Sanyo A/C. Is it because the new A/C's use ecological freezing fluids compared to the older ones or maybe because mine is energy grade A and the other is B or C or just mine A/C sucks compared to the other?(Of course when i put it in turbo function it's performance is great but it consumes more power)
Anyway enough with my chattering i would like to thank again everybody who help me, especially Superwill to whom i owe a lot!Last edited by selaxi; 17-11-2007 at 05:15 PM.

Re: Samsung codes anyone please
the AQV12MSAN is 4.2kw cooling and 5.5kw heating and yeah i find it a very good system for home use,the option codes are a little disheartening to say the least but bar that having worked on all shapes and sizes of theses i find them a good easy system (i would say that) but i do know most of its "in's" and "outs" but would like to open it up to any out there on there views?
