I just got back from 25 days of V A C A T I O N ......Went out in my new boat and caught plenty of Daulphin , mackeral, grouper, amber Jack ... etc..
will get back to you in a few after I catch up on the work .....

I can not belive that there are only 2 fishermen on this list.

I tried sea fishing as well, in the north of Scotland. I went fishing of the coast of Isla, and caught tonnes of stuff. The locals loved us as they were into lobster fishing and they used our catches for bait.

One more makes three of us! I live in Derby, local rivers are the Trent, Dove and Derwent - plenty of Barbel in all three!!!!

I was led to beleive it was GREYLING that was the most caught fish on the Derwent.

Yes, you are right, there are a lot of greyling in the Derwent, particularly in the upper reaches...Matlock to Darley Abbey. But, there are also plenty of chub, roach and barbel. I think the Derwent on it's day will outperform any other river in the midlands!

The well-deserved fishing trip of this weekend was a wonder for my soul.

Even the wife went along! It was the 10-year-old's first off-shore trip, and not a one of us were "chummin" None-the-less, the "fish" lived up to his namesake, at about the moment that he landed his 3rd shark, and the deckhand remarked, "Just how many fish have you caught?".

fishy says, "Just put the #6 tag on the critter, it's mine.", deck hand, "NO, how many shark have you brought aboard?"....

fishy says, "Look, my son caught the first shark (his first off-shore catch by the way ), and this is my second.... ... maybe third, but we are #6, and all the fish with the #6 tags on 'em are ours!!!!"


(deckhand puts hands on hips and looks out of top of brow)

(fishy has moment of reflection)

fishy inquires, "Is there a limit on these Atlantic (sharpnose)sharks !! "

(deckhand nods head)

Fishy inquires, "What's the limit ?".

Deckhand responds, "ONE !!!"

THE "FISH" EXCLAIMS, "Damn, it's time to start drinking BEER!".

It was a party boat with 30 poles fishin'. My son's favorite part of the trip, was the bunk-beds in the air-conditioned cabin!!

...but he did a good job, and was smiling ear-to-ear when he brought his first shark on board. He got to go into the wheelhouse and take the helm of the 80' boat on the way in!!! What a great day for a young man.

We thought we were chartering the LaPesca, but the Dolphin is a much better boat, from which to fish......

yo dwarfstar next we must find that lake near the red phone box ,and grahams cousin on isle of wight has nice humungus pond and they got some big carp they want caught as they want to put other fish in the pond.

I remember as a young boy, standing for hours at the harbour fishing and caught nothing but a few crabs (no jokes please). Just then some bloke walked up, cast in and draged out no less than 7 fish with one set of feathers...(~@}{?>^$)

He didn`t even want them! So I took them off him and claimed the catch as mine. (got a quid from my gran for them).

Hey I'm a keen sea fisho too. I used to fish the rivers and lakes back home in Birmingham, which was a few years ago. Now I have my own boat in NZ and fish in the inner gulf in Auckland. In fact we went out last night and caught a few small ones. Another month we will be hitting them hard, mainly Snapper,Kingfish and a few sharks will turn up as normal, which is a real pain !

got a place in hungary on the lake balaton,they have some very big carp/catfish etc, a few us went with a bottle of local palinca [bit like moonshine] caught a stinking hangover ,good fun though,on a more serious note a mate of mines buying a hotel there to do fishing trips on the lake,direct flights to the balaton now,cheap as chips there too.will put a post when its up and running.

Ah Tenby Harbour..
I had my first sea fishing experience there. Fishing off the lifeboat ramp, casting off with feathers for mackerel, went every year as kids, used to stay at Kiln Park Caravan Park, my old man used to gut the fish,and cook them up for tea. Even went fishing on a charter boat called the "Enterprise", always caught mackerel and bass.
Happy happy days. Now live in NZ, have my own boat, and still can't get enough fishing.

Yes, I've been there - nice place, as is Hamilton, Aukland, Cambridge, Rotarua etc. We visited about 2 years ago and spent a great New Years day on Snells beach then spent a week looking around after visiting OZ.
My old apprentice lives in Warkworth but he's out the trade now - seems he's got some rather cushy job working on helicopters when he's not taking the kids out on the boat.

Never fished in Conn. I fished some Ohio freshwater lakes once with my former father-in-law. It was a fine day simply because I skunked him with two largemouth bass' to his 0.

I'm on the outer banks of North Carolina and there is plenty of saltwater and freshwater fare here...more than most could imagine.

I mostly spearfish on wrecks in and around Cape Hatteras (better known as the Graveyard of the Atlantic) and have not been doing much hook and line fishing since I started diving.
I used to like the deep sea diving, but now I'm strictly a shallow water guy.
My wife says I should omit the word "water" from that sentence. LOL
