Re: air duct cleaning
From watching American movies, we know for sure that they have no problems with cleaning ducts. People seem to find easy access into buildings through the ducts.
Jokes aside, almost all A/C ducting installed in SA is internally lined with 25mm fibreglass covered with sonic liner. You can't really clean this and so it remains for the life of the duct. From a previous thread I read about the bacteria and other stuff on filters, I cringe to think what colonies these ducts could support after 15 years of use.
There is a company that offers a sort of bottle brush for unlined duct. But how effective could it be on rectangular ducts?

There are few contractors working here in this business, and making very good money, Once we gave contract to a local company and they did the job very nicely, In side old ducts looks great after cleaning, by the way most of their technicians were from Philippines very thin and their bodies were very flexible as they were going inside ducts and cleaned it with special tools with out any problem.

I think the products of Lifa from Finland aren't bad either. In fact they are best out there in this field. Reliable and flexible. We have been using this technology for quiet some years..
