Condensing temperatures with ammonia

Can anybody tell me which is the most common condensing temperature for ammonia? In my company we´ve been seeing that one problem with R-404A is the condensing temperature (50-52ºC) while R-22 could condensate at 62ºC; OK I understand this looking at P-h diagrams, but someone has told me that ammonia doesn´t condensate too high why??? the T critical of ammonia is 132ºC. Hi, Friobernal most NH3 systems are designed around a 35c condensing temperature using evaporative condensers. Why condenser at 50c when you don't have to. Besides high condensing pressures in NH3 lead to very high discharge temperature, which can breakdown miniral oils and overheat compressors.

On recaiprocating compressors too high condensing temperature if often a problem. A temperature about 125-150°C is commen. This temperature and higher damage the valve plates much fastar then for instant R22.
