    Why POE oil?

    Hi to every one
In Heatcraft report about refrigeration system mentioned that it's acceptable to use POE oils with HCFC refrigerants and strictly with HFC refrigerants. I need some feedback on why not using mineral oil with HFC ,and it's acceptable to use POE oil with HCFC refrigerants?..higly appreciated your efforts to answer....

    Re: Why POE oil?

Mineral oil cannot be used with HFC because of chemical incompatibilities. The absence of chlrine in HFC molecules causes mineral oil to be immiscible. In turn, this results in clogged filters and poor heat transfer.
On the other hand HCFC and CFC can be used with POE oils, because chlorine does not react with esther oils and POES also has got superior lubricating properties.
