Re: body-iced up(compressor
It would apear that the temp is not what it should be in the case and the comp is being flooded with liquid.
If it is only one evap with one metering device I would look at that. It would appear that the valve has failed and is flooding liquid through.
Another posibility is the defrost. If the evap is iced up it could flood back to the comp and if it is on hot gas defrost the defrost valve could be passing and putting just enough vapour through to cause the fault.
1 look to your metering device.
2 look at the evap for iceing up.
3 look at your defrost in genral.
Cheers taz.

Re: body-iced up(compressor
are the fans running? is the evap iced up? is there a liquid line heat exchanger? i have had them split internally before now passing liquid into suction line. if you have a tev is the bulb still strapped to the suction line?

Re: body-iced up(compressor
Check the expansion valve bulb is clamped correctly, I had one on a freezer cold room where the previous engineer had clamped the bulb with plastic cable ties, the ties became brittle, snapped and left the bulb dangling, valve wide open, compressor a ball of ice.

Re: body-iced up(compressor
all of the above and maybe someone might have filled it with R22 instead, or if its a newish second hand set up,is the evap big enough for the unit,or just plain needing more defrosts.
