    freezer rapid start stop

Hi I have an Indesit built in freezer, not sure of the model number. I found a puddle of water under it recently. The problem seems to be that the compressor turns on for about 3 seconds and then turns itself off for a few minutes. Never being able to get cold enough to freeze. Thermostat setting is at max and tried superfreeze but no change. Any ideas or is it a new freezer required.

With any domestic, you have to ask yourself how old is it, how much did it cost and how much would a new (possibly more efficient and thus cheaper to run) one cost.
If its more than a few years old I would suggest a new one. Sounds like compressor or system blockage.
