    Hi Senthil

    You can use the following formula for sizing the ductwork to provide constant velocity

    Volume = Velocity x Area

    So if you know your air volume, divide it by the velocity you want to give you the area of the duct. Then devide this figure by the height you want for the duct and the answer will be the width. Simple

    Example

    Air volume of ducted unit = 0.63m3/s

    Required velocity = 4.5m/s

    Area = Vol/Vel = 0.63/4.5 = 0.14m2

    Height of duct required = say, 0.3m

    Duct width = 0.14/03 = 0.466m

    So the preferred size of the duct would be 300 x 450 in this case.

    Hope this helps

    Senthil, just how many times are you going to keep asking about duct design ?

    You have been given many pointers as to where to get information.

    It is now about time that you started to buy some books or attend a course to teach yourself about this subject.

    There are no easy answers to designing anything, you have to study, learn and practise.

    Brian

    I thought my previous post might put him to rest - so to speak.

    Time will tell.

    I also thought he had a different screen name before. I wondered about the change. Perhaps to improve his odds??
    If all else fails, ask for help.
