    Typical friday.

    Hi all.
Just thought i would share an experience.
Sometimes you have to wonder why do you get these types of jobs?

Boss attends callout for freezer room up in temp and finds system short and leak on liquid line service valve of receiver ( from the spindle). Not having any tools and doing service calls and in a hurry he takes off and parms it of to yours truely for the following day.
Rock up with new service valve, reclaimer and bottle. found system floooding back to compressor in big way, coil ok, thought faulty tx/ loose tx bulb. Bulb ok. Go to pump down system and found liquid line insulated????. System will not pump down but goes out on HP. Dump liquid into spare bottle until it is able to pump down. Remove TX ???? No Orifice.
The boss had adjusted the metering device (see liquid service valve) while trying to stop the leak on the spindle by back seating the service valve. Amazingly in too much of a hurry to notice the insulated liquid line?.
Repaired the offending nightmare and walked away with more than enough recyclable reclaimed gas.

Obviously the cheap installer was not available to carry out any service calls or repairs on his work!.

    Yours ever more puzzled

    Peter.

    Peter.

The guy who orriginaly installed it must of intended for the system to start evaporating at the reciever shut-off valve just like a split air con.

    Three possible reasons.

1 Air cond installer with no experience of fridge.
2 Good fridge engineer who has novel ways of hand expansion.
3 Most likely reason. You have followed a job that was installed by a complete idiot.

    Cheers taz.
