    Lightbulb VRF Pipework Design

    Morning all,

    Hopefully the correct section.

I am not 100% on VRF systems and pipe design so hoping someone may be able to assist. I have a piping and wiring diagram so pretty happy on pipe sizing.

Now, my main concern is linear thermal expansion on 1 1/8" pipe. Will be installing 65 odd meters vertically down a riser (plus the rest of the system) and have done some calcs and would be looking just shy of 100mm linear expansion possibly.

The bottom of the riser I will then break through into offices running horizontally. Need to maintain flow as best as possible, so no street bends will be installed, all long radius bends, due to longest run being 194m.

Now, would I best doing the below?

I'm leaning towards the loop but being 1 1/8" not sure I can get that, wanted expert installers opinions.

Would I need these loops on the vertical and horizontal runs?

    Many thanks for the help

Is it 3 or 2 pipe VRF?

    Is this the suction pipe?

If 3 pipe then the suction will remain suction, where would linear expansion come into it? ( am open to new knowledge btw, this isn't something i'v'e come across except on discharge lines?)

    Hi Al,

Believe I've been looking into this too deeply. The pipe will on ever be a suction pipe, other being a liquid, this will not be a discharge line, so I would say I've looked at this wrongly, appreciate the input.
