Re: Carbon Dioxide Training Help
Steve
as far as I know there is not any certified CO2 training at the moment. Companies like Star and J & E Hall may be doing some internal training but that will be for their own staff. We may be able to put something together if there is enough of a demand.

Re: Carbon Dioxide Training Help
Hi Steveg and pooh
Cool Concerns have a co2 training course. I have been on it and one of Star's courses for managers
www.coolconcerns.co.uk
If the industry goes the way we think it will, everyone will need training on co2.
If I were a training provider I would be seriously considering a trans-critical training rig

already looking at the possibility but are at present getting our ammonia plant installed hopefully by march. It would be nice to know how much demand there would be.

Dear Andy,
How about starting a training course in India for CO2 and Ammonia, because I see the future in this. Is there any way a course copuld be conducted.

Re: Carbon Dioxide Training Help
Hi Samarjit Sen
anything is possible, I know one guy who did a bit of consultancy who worked in the UK Ireland and did some specialist work on pea freezing in India (use to sell kiloskir electric copy components). He was retired and only worked part time, that was over 10 years ago

Re: Carbon Dioxide Training Help
Andy,
As far as I can see , that CO2, Ammonia and both of them as a cascade system is the future of refrigeration. These are not only cheap, but are natural refrigerants. Unfortunately the technology is far from available in our country. If you see the ammonia plants, they are obsolete and far from economical. I can not change as there are a large number of engineers in this field in our country. All that I want that there should be an Institute or a training facility for educating our new and old engineers like me , so that we can set up plants which are efficient and energy efficient. With the present policies of our Government, we can now import better equipments such as Compressors and Coils, and by taking advantage of these we can get better plants.
I am also involved in designing and installing plants for freezing, pre cooling and storage of agricultural produces and make all efforts to incorporate the latest technologies that are available. I am importing the compressors, coils etc. But even then I feel a proper training is essential so that much more improvement could be made.

Re: Carbon Dioxide Training Help
I would say it would be a bit like Polar pumps rig for ammonia handling, a unique selling point, winning you work outside that of the co2 rig.
I feel it will happen, probably sooner rather than later, co2 is a real possibility for the future
Start a poll on RE and see what people say
