frost on TXV diaphragm during startup
On my CPU cooler, the TXV diaphragm will sometimes frost up for a while during startup. The frost disappears after a few minutes.
Will that cause problems with the TXV? I think the cause is liquid migrating into the diaphragm when the system is off, causing a heatpipe effect when the bulb cools quickly. Should I install a small resistor near the diaphragm to prevent liquid buildup? Or is it nothing to worry about?"If Hannah was an air handler, I would be a condensing unit so I could open her TXV and pump my refrigerant through her coils." - a HVAC friend of mine

Re: frost on TXV diaphragm during startup
I think you've got it. If possible, a liquid solenoid would be the best option, but otherwise just apply some insulation on the TXV body. No problems to the TXV, but I think the the frost thawing could release water on the PCB board.
