DX Ground Source Heat Pumps (GSHP)
Who has already installed a DX GSHP?
And more specific, who already made a DX with boreholes?
What about the coil: protected or bare copper?
If bare copper, was an acidity test performed of the soil?
Is there a noticable drop of R-value with the protected copper?
Is powder coating, metalising or galvanising a coil, then not a better option?
Who already used and installed cathodic protection? This technic seems very easy to use.
Does anyone know a supplier of protected copper? Som of them are located in Italy.
This was a topic in another thread but perhaps more will read these questions here.Last edited by Peter_1; 26-10-2006 at 07:19 AM.
It's better to keep your mouth shut and give the impression that you're stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.

Re: DX Ground Source Heat Pumps (GSHP)
Hi peter,
we have done the pipework to the ground loops for a company, and connected them up to the heat pumps.
they are bare copper and they should do soil tests but at the moment they dont so we havnt installed the cathodic protection yet. As for the coated copper i have no idea of any suppliers.
