Air conditioner/dehumidifier
Have a 12K btw air conditioner that also works as a dehumidifier if I set it to. In general how much energy does running the dehumidifier use compared to the air con.
I only ask as its due to cool down tomorrow but the humidity is going to double, keeping the air con running all day will probabily cost a fortune! But i'm hoping the dehumidify function will be cheaper.

Re: Air conditioner/dehumidifier
Have to ask, does the unit actually say it will dehumidify or does it just have a 'dry' mode because they are different functions.

Re: Air conditioner/dehumidifier
Should have been btu I type too quickly for my own good!
It says dehumidify! So i'd assume it means dehumidify. But you know what they say about assumptions.
But it it wont make any difference price wise, then not really an issue. Thank you for all your help

It will consume more energy if used as a dehumidifier. How much?... It depends upom the condition of the room you want.
