    Daikin E5 fault RYMQ12T7Y1B

    Hi Guys

I have 2 outdoor units feeding a number of indoor units 2 pipe heat pump

    Outdoor units
    RYMQ16T7Y1B (Master)
    RYMQ12T7Y1B (slave)

originally i had a U2-03 fault the app said this was a capacitor charging error on the master outdoor unit first inverter compressor, we got a new PCB and changed the inverter pcb, when we switched the unit back on we now have a E5-02 fault which i believe is a fault on the slave outdoor unit over current on the compressor.

We have carried out a resistance check on the compressors and they seem fine (master outdoor unit 0.54 ohms on each winding, slave outdoor unit 0.99 ohms on each winding), we have also carried out a megger test on the compressors to earth and they are all clear.
We have put the outdoor unit into code 28 and tested all the inverters and they all seem fine, i also used code 39 to remove the slave outdoor unit and the master outdoor unit run for 10 mins with no problem.

I'm a bit confused as to why we had a fault on the master outdoor and now it's on the slave outdoor and if the E5-02 fault is an over current and the compressor is seized how do we confirm that? as the unit will only run for approx 5 -10 seconds before it shuts down not really long enough to get an amp reading, the amp reading i did get seemed quite low 4-5amps.

    Any help would be appreciated

Have you carried out a test operation since replacing the pcb?

    hi Frank
No I haven’t , how do I do that? Is it via a remote controller or just a forced thermostat on from the outdoor unit?

Here's a link how to initiate Test mode. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wuERtIxDx78

This usually clears the error codes if no problems are found
