Is 58psi oil pressure high for a Vilter?

I was servicing a Vilter AS446 calculated the net oil pressure to be 58psi, is that a little high?

I thought oil pressure on these recips should be in the range of 43psi to 48psi, is that correct?

Any ideas what might be causing this high oil pressure? Possibly some oil lines starting to block up?

I don't usually work on these type of systems so not to sure myself.

    ARGN,
Vilter recommends 40-45 psi on 400 series compressor.
Oil should be up to temperature.
    Gauges accurate

Also depends on where oil pressure reading is taken from.
If at seal end then as above.
If at pump end I would go 60 psi (400kpa), as pipe work & oil coolers can have a bit of a pressure drop.

Does it have a Cuno filter, or replaceable Tri-micro filter?

It has a replaceable Teri-micro filter and gauge is just after pump

Maybe small side step not helping with question at hand but possibly will help in the future.
Not to familiair with the Vilter 400 compressor, encountered one and found a operation and service manual. The manual is to big in size to upload as attachment (also with only the selection pages with the oil circuit). It is from 2001 and says "Replaces all previous issues" (compressor encountered was from 197x)
If you are interested I'll send it to you. Just say what the best way would be for you.

    Link to manual
Depending where gauge is mounted, you may be reading upstream pressure of Tru-micro oil filter.
You could change it to get a fresh start, as probably should change annually, mop sump etc.

Oil pressure on these is easily adjustable. I still have a tool for the packing that I made when I used to work on them. Otherwise a pair of needle nosed pliers to loosen the packing and a large screwdriver to turn the stem works well.
