    Engineers

    Hi All,
Long time no speak. Where have all the good AC & Fridge guys gone. We’ve been trying to actively recruit for a couple of months now but can’t find any decent guys or girls.

Does anyone know of anyone in and around Manchester that they could recommend?

Hi Marc....as you say, long time no speak.

What I've found is 3 things

1....all of the good guys are happy in their employment and being looked after
2....the kids coming through the college's now thinking getting their level 2 NVQ gives them all of tthe knowledge they need to the extent that some go self employed
3....the college's aren't doing the best training as most of the knowledgeable tutors have either retired or taken redundancy only to be offered their jobs back on lower terms
    Oh...and 4....the kids today want I.T. jobs

    Hi Frank,
Glad to see you’re still holding the fort here and hope you’re keeping well.

That’s my thinking exactly, I’ve interviewed several people recently and not one of them met the grade. No’s 2 and 3 are the most worrying part for us.

Back to the drawing board I guess.

What if you did a kind of "The Immitation Game" advert on social media and in local papers, give them a refrigeration based puzzle/problem to work out. Maybe that would bring out someone that has a genuine interest/understanding. Make the puzzle/problem to the level of understanding you would like someone to have.
