Which Component will be designed first ?
Hello all,
as we all know a basic HVAC has four important components, Compressor, evaporator, condenser and expansion valve, I wanted to ask if we are designing a system consisting of these four components, which component will be designed first, e.g. will it be compressor or evaporator unit ?, please explain with proper reason.
Thanks

Re: Which Component will be designed first ?
I would imagine that the evaporator should be designed first as the whole system is designed around a certain heat load.
Once the design temperature and humidity stage has been completed then the other major plant components, compressor, condenser, expansion device and refrigerant will follow on to match the type/size of evaporator.Brian - Newton Abbot, Devon, UK

For cooling duty, the expansion valve capacity, but then you need to take account of room dimensions, airflow as to what is the system spec is, evap no. Load variation etc. In fairness I would guess there is no right answer, but in a simple system I would look at expansion valve sizing first.

Re: Which Component will be designed first ?
Hi
I think frist we have to calculate our load (all loads)
Then we can go to choose evaporator and compressors and Condenser.
To choose evaporators we should specify our DT
air circulation and ....
