Ceiling cassette enclosures / casings
Hi, i am trying to source some ceiling cassette enclosures / casings for a job. The sort that hides the cassette when it is surface mounted. We have all seen them when on our travels or in some restuarant somewhier but ask anyone whier to get them and they all say the same " when you find out let me know too". So if any one can help with manufacturers or anyone who sells them please let me know. many thanks. j

Re: Ceiling cassette enclosures / casings
Daikin used to do an infill panel like you desribe, I usually make my own out of MDF or get a joiner to knock you one up.

Re: Ceiling cassette enclosures / casings
1) I guess you are asking about, when a cassette is not fully recessed into the ceiling, and needs a collar to hide that 4" or so that hangs below the ceiling, yes?
I believe Mitsubishi make them for their own cassettes, and that collar fits most of the other makes too. You would need to get your tape out to check the dimensions etc - I think they cost most of £200, which is why a lot of people make them up with MDF and paint them white. But it there is a chippie on site, maybe it is something you can exclude, on the basis that the chippie can make up the collar for you.
2) If you mean really 'surface' cassette, the only ones I've seen are those made by Daikin, which look quite nice, albeit pricy too. That's a nice cased cassette, that can go on the surface, or just hang there on ot's own, maybe. (Guess you could get a regular cassette and box it up and do a nice paint job to make it look something.)Last edited by Makeit go Right; 23-06-2006 at 06:36 PM.

Re: Ceiling cassette enclosures / casings
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries ( 3d air sales or HRP) do them for their cassettes. They are made of fibreglass and come 3 or 4 different heights. They look great but are very expensive and are made to order so delivery times are not always that good.

Re: Ceiling cassette enclosures / casings
I actually saw on one site where the ceiling fixer had shaped the ceiling grid down towards the cassette.
It looked quite impressive.Brian - Newton Abbot, Devon, UK

Re: Ceiling cassette enclosures / casings
In 2002 the prices were:
Typical prices for mitsubishi.
Any depth up to 150mm between £74.37 to £91.37
Daikin sky air (all sizes) £87.12
Probably gone up in price now.
Hope this helps.

"Jac Services make the collars. phone No is out of date - sorry."
=======================
That phone number is a bit out of date. There is a poor lady that has to explain this to anyone that calls, about 2x per day, to explain that she is not the company JACS.
Anyne have a PT number for JACS, or anyone else that supplies these collars? There must be an original supplier out there somewhere.
Collars up to 6" tall are available from HRP and Mitsi-3D. You can also get them up to about 350mm as a full surround for about £200 from the same people. Need to contact technical for a special order - and they like more than one or two quantities.Last edited by frank; 12-02-2008 at 08:53 PM.

Re: Ceiling cassette enclosures / casings
lol poor old lady
Got to say just to box in the casing looks pretty Naf.
We always get the chippy to make a box at least 1.5mtrs x 1.5 Mtrs so it dosent look like a little POD coming down the the ceiling.
At the end of the day its down to cost, but the customer must be made aware of how silly they look.

Any other sources for these type of products? Thought about a new post but this one seems to have some of the answers.
