Site adverts
.
I'm not sure who owns this site now, whether WebRam is still
involved or not and I know the site is free to use so adverts
are important for it's continued use.
But the adverts are getting more and more intrusive.
Is it just me, but the new advert banner that pops up halfway
up the screen every time you navigate a new page is too much
for me.
Am I on my own, being fed-up with the intrusive pop up adverts?
As I'm writing this I can't see the text because there is an advert banner hiding my text.

Re: Site adverts
Rob,
Agree, but their advertising does not work, for me, as you just ignore.
Maybe it drove the 90% of previous users away, as no real content anymore.
But summer in Europe, better things to do, probably.
Tried a few American sites, but they are nut cases, also zero content, no advertising though, that I remember.

"But they are nut cases"
It is my home, but sometimes I am inclined to agree!

Re: Site adverts
There is Add Blocker, if you apply to your PC.
You choose what you want, if anything.
I have no advertisements at all.

Re: Site adverts
It's not (just) the Ads.
The Forum now looks so dated I can't see any new potential long term members ever joining, and can understand why most have left. It's tired, badly designed and code actually leaking onto the page (see "});" at top). It's so badly maintained (sorry guys - just JMHO) that the mobile site barely works and as noted, the adverts completely ruin the site; that's why most people left.
On a more serious note, there is STILL no SSL, which is forgivable sitewide, but unforgivable on the login page. As a Forum operator myself, I can advise that it's a real security issue and would put some who watch the padlock on their browser off joining
I stopped visiting some time back (yes, I know - I'm here, I accept this is hypocritical), and found the UK Refrigeration Facebook group far more engaging and populated, whilst also sometimes noisy and messy
The FB group is rubbish for structured conversation and next to impossible to pick up on previous subjects. I still think a decent Forum would be better than a FB Group, but it may be too late now.
I used to enjoy this forum, so hope somebody gives it a bit of a boost. Give it a new Logo, a decent redesign and see if something happans.

The IOR stuff might not be the most interesting, but it my bring others too the site who then ask there own potentially interesting questions. Not limited to just the IOR either.

Re: Site adverts
Hi Rob,
Sorry for the late reply. I do have google ads switched on but they recently changed their ads to dynamic and other than me switching them off, there is not much I can do about it. I will make contact with vb and see if they can help with the amount. No plans to update the software past what it is at present due to costs of software upgrades!
Anything else I can help you with, just PM me

Re: Site adverts
Project management is a fairly complex process. As of today, all modern managers are trying to save time without losing productivity. They implement project automation processes, but there are other methods as well. There is now the possibility of software development, and a prime example of a company that can help with this I think you should pay your attention to it.
