Compressor strain when increasing distance between split A/C.

    Hi all,

I've got an empty Eurom AC2401 mini portable split A/C.
In it, it has a "Highly" brand Compressor (model: BSA645CV-R1EN).
Now I'm just a technician/intaller, but I'm extending the length between the indoor unit and the condenser.

Currently it's about 1m (3.5 ft) long, but i want to increase that to about 4m (13 ft) max.
I've got all the tools/materials, but would you expect that it puts too much strain on the compressor? Are there rules to that?

    Thanks all.

One thing you need to establish is whether the interconnecting pipes are liquid/suction lines or is the "liquid" line actually an expansion pipe from the condensing unit and as such part of the evaporator.

I would image that the pipework could be extended but pipe sizing might need to be changed.

Remember also that the condensing unit only has an IP24 rating so don't let it get too wet outside !
