Placing the condensing unit away from the reach in refrigerator.

    Hello guys.
My customer wants to remove his condensing u nits from inside the store and place them
Outside on the rooftop. About 10_ 15m away.
My concern is that those units are all cap tube.
Can it be done. With out changing with tev, and a receiver. And if I change that Will it work. The compressor s are 1/3,
I am waiting for your response.

Re: Placing the condensing unit away from the reach in refrigerator.

If the cap the starts at the condensing unit outlet then extend the liquid line from the condenser to the start of the cap line. Refrigerant charge will need adjusting of course. Would be worth adding a sight glass to the line as well.

Ensure that the new refrigerant total does not exceed the maximum allowed by the compressor, fit a crankcase heater.

You will have to install a liquid receiver and a txv . An sv before the txv will help protect the compressor from floodback.
