Question about 16 way Daikin branch selector

    Hi

Does anyone know why there is a minimum 5M distance between BS box and FCU? Is it just for noise?

My first units are about 3m and 4m away, but could leave 5m on the pipe if this would work?

If it's just noise I'm tempted to try it, BS box is fitted to joists in loft, ceilings are timber / plaster board.

    Thanks

Re: Question about 16 way Daikin branch selector

At the top of Page 5 it states that it is to keep noise away from the indoor room

    https://www.daikin.co.uk/content/dam...al_English.pdf

"Install the BS box on a location where the refrigerant noise cannot disturb the room occupants.• To avoid the refrigerant noise disturbs the people in the room, keep at least 5 m piping betweenthe occupied room and the BS unit. See figure A (page 2)."

Re: Question about 16 way Daikin branch selector

Thanks, I spoke to Daikin who (despite what it says in the installation manual) advised that a straight run of pipe is required for 500mm from both FCU and Branch Selector, they are much more worried about this than a minimum run of 5M.
