    Daikin R32 MultiSplit Issue

    Hi,

We recently replaced a customers old R22 Inverter Daikin Multisplit with a Brand new R32 Inverter System.

The customer has complained that, if using one of the 3 units on heat, the other two indoor units coils are heating up/cooling (not switching on, but refrigerant is flowing to them).

We have not attended yet, no other multi splits we have installed have worked this way.

    Thoughts Welcome Please?

    TM

Fujitsu multi's do the same thing. Hot gas goes to each coil and if the EEV of unused fan coils are closed the oil can get trapped. Unused fan coils have the EEV slightly open to avoid this so the coil will get warm as a result.

Where does the oil get trapped if the EEV is closed? In liquid line?

Not sure exactly where it’ll get trapped and thinking about it, if the EEV was closed then theoretically there will be no flow therefore no carried over oil?
I’m guessing oil concentration will be somewhere in the hot gas pipes near the outdoor unit and oil would sit in any low parts of the pipework .

The gas line is discharge line and the oil will get trapped in the indoor coil and further towards the compressor, if EXV will be fully closed. VRF systems work with the same principle.
