    YORK YLAA pressure transmitters

    Hi All

Has anyone tried to retrofit third party ratiometric pressure transmitters to a York chiller? JCI have the genuine parts locally but want stupid money for them so I am assessing other options.

Ratiometric transmitters are available but the set ranges are the problem. Is there an option to reset the transmitter output scale (PLC input) on the York HMI? Standard York HP transmitter range is 0-550psi (0-37.92barg) but the closest I can easily access is a 0-45barg (0-652.7psi). Close but no cigar as they say. Can I manipulate the chiller HMI to recognize/correct/accept this?

Other option is to get NIB York parts off Ebay. No warranty however.

    Thoughts?

    garyb,
Just part with the money as more than likely OEM, so no option.
Client pays at the end of the day, but I understand you trying.
Same deal with Hansen air purger pressure transducer, over $1000 Aus

Go with OEM, looked at similar before, very hard to get right range and not possible to adjust sensor ranges. As Ranger says, pay the moolah and put a decent mark up on them.
Mostly found in the southern part of this green and pleasant land.

You can have custom pressure sensors and transmitters made for you, contact a industrial pressure tranmitter supplyer.
Also if it is not for ammonia application 0-550 is standard range.
