    shaaf,
Ideally repair suction stop valve & shaft seal.
If seal conditions deteriorates more, then bigger issue with ammonia becoming dangerous levels.

If machine in operation shaft seal leaks oil, with some danger of seal deteriorating more (we don't know how bad leak is).
If machine stopped, more than likely air will enter system if leak bad enough. If system continues to run in vacuum with other compressors running, then risk of excessive air build up if no air purger.

    Hi sir,
There is no bigger oil leak during running compressor. Even it seems okay..
Can we elaminate air penetrate through the seal during running position?
My thought yes coz positive pressure of oil is there.

    Shaaf,
Page 40 shows clean pressurized oil is supplied to shaft seal.
This means no air will leak in when running.

    Re: RC 1212 grasso

I advice you to think about new compressors.
    Try with some other brand.
In Europe we have lot of problems with GEA Grasso.
in several guys dont want to work with them.
For exmple in one big dairy they 5 Sabroe and two big Grasso.
Grasso is in off position, and they used only Sabroe.
Operating guys decide that,I did say a word.

    best regards
    Aki

    Re: RC 1212 grasso

    Hi AKI;
Grasso is not responsible of electric motor issues.
shaft seal leakages are many times due to oil problems.
Oil coolers are not necessary on RC1212 compressors but on 12E compressors.
E compressors is an other story like the E story for Sabroe.
and Grasso is not a German company but a dutch piston compressors manufacturer from GEA.
Grasso Berlin( old name KAB: KuhlAutomat Berlin) is the screw manufacturer from GEA.

    it's clearer.
