    Toshiba RBC-AMS41E Hard Wired Controller

    Hi all,

We have a Toshiba RBC-AMS41E Hard wired controller on a stand alone split system which will not allow a Heating or Auto mode. I'm being told it has had this function but suddenly over night has lost it. The controller will only allow cooling and fan mode with the heating option seemingly now disappeared. The controller has been swapped for another but still same thing. Has someone been messing and locked out heating ? Any advise welcome.

    Cheers

Perhaps someone has been playing about with the function settings. See page 19 here

Don't quote me but don't they have a small PCB outdoors which has some dip switches on?

The switches corrode and one of them is to set this cooling only function.

Definitely is on one make, not Daikin, Mitsi, Fujitsu that I do know. Pretty sure it was Toshiba.

    Cheers,
    Andy.
Health and safety first..........unless I'm in a hurry.

Hi..i would suggest you to replace it with new technology. RBC-MTSC1 colour smart touch wall mounted controller is a capacitive icon based touchscreen that is very intuitive, easy to use and very simple to install. The smart touch controller uses the same 2 wire format used for our standard controllers and no external power supply is needed to operate the device.
