It's not the same without Romania in it.

Spain looks good, and Czech Republic also. I wish one of these two take the trophy.

    Hi,

we are there, but playing with Brasil it seems too hard to win , or that was just bad luck, who knows?

Hope we can do better later on

    Best regards,

    Josip

Spain played just brilliantly. The Germans however gave us a lack lustre but polished performance.

Brasil were dissapointing, they are like an accelerator pedal, they press down when the pressure is on, otherwise, they are laid back.

England play a well tried, hard game always. With the pressure mounting , things will get a little more exciting now.

Im looking out for the Spaniards, and am wishing England all the way

    Sorry Temprite

Pat on the back for the Aussies.
They did good, all all credit to them.

Maybe, a team to watch out for in the future as their game matures

You learn something new everyday. After Ghana's win, I overheard "The seppoes are out" in a pub. I got the slang explained to me by a local Brit.

    Allow me to enlighten you.

In rhyming slang, the second word rhymes with the objective. Sometimes even this is subject to modification.

    In this instance,

Seppoes = Septics = Septic Tanks = Yanks.

i.e. "..the seppoes are out" means 'In the World Cup, the Americans were about to enjoy an early Hamburger'.

Ive watched all the games so far, its about temperament.

Brazil have not impressed me, they have a cavalier attitude and their "stars" are a depleted lot way past their prime.

The England team are " primed" superbly and fit the bill.

but you must admit Rooney had to go out and that is not good excuse.

Croatian team was very bad and they deserve to go back home, no excuse

Just for the record, I don't watch football or have any real interest in the sport. However, I was having a "couple" of beers tonight in the nearest hostelry to my abode and happened to see the penalty shoot out.

Not calling anyone etc. but - is that the best they can do ?

Played 120 minutes and then it's all decided on penalty kicks?

Come on ! you can't complain if they can't do it in 120 minutes and then start crying because they are now going home.

I'm more concerned about what the WAGS will do now.

I have watched a lot of the games this year and I have to say what a load of codswallop. All the teams looked like they were playing for draws. And England, dear god ..... with all that tallent, they have played crap. Someone needs to burst a few English player bubbles and get them to start playing like a team.

That is where you are wrong my friend. it was never a red card offence. however a certain nameless individual who winked at his coach just afterwards will be made to suffer at the hands of all English fans when he returns to Man U. next season, if not Man u. fans then certainly everone they play. if he comes back LOL.

    Enough said.

Thanks for help about english words, I'm trying to express myself the best I can but sometimes...

If I was in Rooney's place and did it just coincidentally I will come immediately down to that poor guy telling him honestly I'm so sorry. For me that is fair play, whatever will happen after. What did Rooney ?

    Agreed.
Take for instance M Schumacher, a professional cheat. And then Ferrari a team of professional cheats who enhanced his career by cheating. it becomes difficult to pick a side between the Germans or the Italians for the win. rest assured there will be plenty of cheating though, elbows or otherwise.

If I was in Rooney's place and did it just coincidentally I will come immediately down to that poor guy telling him honestly I'm so sorry. For me that is fair play, whatever will happen after. What did Rooney ?

    Best regards, Josip
Yes, agreed, damage limitation would have helped, like putting hands up in the air, saying youre sorry, ( When really youre not) pretending, putting on a sorry face, etc. That is a type of " fraud" Insincere, cheating

With Rooney, he is not that type of personality to go for that articulate acting, he is a lad, not versed in artistry, diplomacy or tact.

You punch him, he gives you one back. He is not for senstivity or emotion.

He in all honesty fought for the ball, his objectives were clear, but they were overly misconstrued by ref aided by winker, and he paid the price.

Hope that helps Josip?? if nothing your spelling will improve!!!

    Re: world cup football

What is all the fuss about. Why not eliminate the game all together and just have a penalty shoot out? How can anyone be a legitimate world champion based on 2 players taking turns at each end? To say nothing of the plater who tripped on his Tutu and got his team into the finals with a penalty goal. And the head butt! What a dive. Could anyone seriously imagine a Rugby,Gridiron. Australian Rules or Gaelic footballer going down from that nudge in the chest? I doubt it would happen in Netball!
