Refrigerant compressed air dryer

Dear Colleagues

In a refrigerant air dryer R22, I would like to replace the High Pressure Switch, setting in 28Bar (CUT OUT), with a thermostat and I would like to know at what temperature must be set (CUT OUT).

Set the same temperature as the original pressure setting was at.

Same switch, different dial.

This sounds a very strange idea and potentially dangerous . For a thermostat to work, 1) it’s bulb would need to be fitted in one particular position on the system ,2) the bulb would need to be insulated from air movement etc , 3) the thermal lag of the thermostat would need to be taken into consideration.
The thermostat setting would be approx 70 deg C . provided the bulb was fitted to the correct position in the system.
In theory an HP pressure switch will work anywhere on the high side of the system from the discharge pipe through to the liquid line. A thermostat though would only work correctly in one area only .
Perhaps Kashmiris can tell us specifically where he would fit the thermostat bulb as this would need to be correct for correct functionality of the stat to take place.
