First time looking at a refrigerated van.

How different is a refrigerated van to standard commercial fridges or air con. I've been asked to look at one I'm don't it's a favour and want to know if standard gauges and gasses are used etc. Apparently it's not working and I don't know much about voltage and power supply to it etc

Fairly similar, main difference is a belt driven compressor. Standard gauges are fine, depending on the vehicle/manufacture you may need the car air con valves. Their normally on R404a, R134a and new stuff R452a. Voltages are normally 12VDC on small vans, and if they plug into the mains they may have a second standby compressor on the roof that uses a normal single or three phase supply. The control circuit normally stays using a 12VDC supply using a transformer and rectifier.
