After 50 years in the air conditioning trade, I have decided to retire on 31st May.
It is a great industry which has seen many changes during the last 50 years, mostly improvements.
I am sure that there will be many more changes and improvements in efficiency, probably at a more rapid pace in the future.
Looking back I can honestly say that mostly I have enjoyed the journey from apprentice through to Service Manager. If not, I would not still be in this trade.
Not wanting to be too nostalgic but who remembers when C17 thermostats were all that was required for any make of A/C or when wall mounted units were something of a new idea.
Window rattlers were the norm in 'high security' computer rooms.
I am sure that I will miss the hustle and bustle of the trade, for a while.
But it will be nice to not to have to be responding to the impatient "must have it now" clients.
I will still be dropping into the Forum from time to time to keep up todate with the changes.
Good luck to all of you in the trade and the friends that I have made on this Forum and along the way.
