    Time required for cooling

    Hello,

For a typical bed room (lets assume 4m X 3m X 3m), lets assume it requires 1.5TR of refrigeration. When typical split units are considered, the desired temperature is attained in some 10-20 min during initial start up, and the compressor cycles at random intervals. Is there a method to determine this time required to cool down the air?

For example, if I propose 1TR unit instead of 1.5TR, I presume the unit will run for longer, but how longer?
    Can some explain?

    Thanks
    Nevin.

    Re: Time required for cooling

    Hi,

I dont like tonnes....lets say kW.

total heat load/cooling time = capacity required.

in first case heat load = capacity*cooling time in sec
    so, heat load = 5.25kW*20*60
    = 6300 kJ

so if you use 1 ton unit = 6300/3.5
    =1800 s
    =30 minutes
