    Water regulator valve



    Hi Friends,

    Photo below shows water regulator valve that helps condenser pressure to be constant.
    Always we use it at inlet water of condenser but at this photo TRANE used it at outlet water of condenser.

    Is it different to use this water regulator valve at inlet or outlet of condenser ?

    They can be used in either inlet or outlet connections but the pipe work orientation and the type of water supply “mains waster, cooling tower etc can become relevant .
    We always fitted them to the outlet connection , this way the condenser is always filled with water when the valve closes , whereas if the valve is in the inlet connection the condenser may be partially drained when the valve closes depending on the pipe work configuration , this can cause erratic control.
    Never oversize a water valve as this can cause erratic control and massive head pressure cycling with poor refrigeration effect caused by the varying head pressure
