Re: Oil Type for HSN
Bitzer document uses BS170 over range +7.5°C to -50°C
Check docs here https://www.bitzer.de/gb/en/document...lng=en&lang=enBrian - Newton Abbot, Devon, UK

Re: Oil Type for HSN
Hi if you use thin oil, it won't seal the screws properly to pump,

If you do not trust the manufacturer then you wont trust anyone else.

Re: Oil Type for HSN
Hi
Dear Brian
I trust them and read all of docs in there's sits
But I put this question to them
first they wrote oil should be BSE 170
When I told them about pour point they mailed me BSE32
I did a lots work with HSN and used BSE 170
( more than 60 cold rooms )
But all of them was cold rooms ( -35 c) with defrost system
this one has not defrost so I am not sure about type of oil
for R 134A they wrote -25 c

Re: Oil Type for HSN
hi mbc,
when you are reading the oil specifications, "In bitzer document for R=404A has BSE 170
pour point of this oil =-28" >>> these -28 are for pure oil.
in your system, refrigerant is mixed with oil and there is no problem in using BSE 170 at low temperatures.
using iso32 oil you will get a high refrigerant concentration in oil at HP stage, low oil viscosity, and bad lubrification at bearings.
